Unlocking carbon value

Michael leads CarbonLink’s commercial strategy and client delivery across carbon aggregation and project development. He works closely with renewable energy asset owners to structure credible carbon projects, guide feasibility and registration processes, and ensure projects are positioned for long term carbon value. He brings hands on experience across the solar PV project lifecycle, with a strong understanding of how operational assets are developed, financed, and managed.

Alongside his role at CarbonLink, Michael is also the Business Development Manager at Ammonite Environmental, an established environmental consultancy specialising in carbon methodologies and registry processes. This dual role allows him to bridge commercial objectives with technical execution, providing clients with a single, accountable point of contact from early engagement through to verified credit issuance.

Aeren’s mission in life is to bridge the environmental-economic gap of sustainability through the tangible development and implementation of pro-sustainability projects, leveraging his Consulting and Advisory expertise to do so. As a key focus area, he has experience in pulling Environmental Credit Levers (such as carbon and plastic credits) and assisting clients in accessing other sustainable Finance Incentives. Aeren holds an MBA from WITS University and a BSc Hons from Rhodes University.
